The proposed tree replacement locations have been laid out by the engineer per the contract plans. The engineer will meet the Village's arborist Friday (3/3) to go over the locations and revise the locations if necessary. The contractor has ordered all the trees from local nurseries and appropriate reports have been submitted to IDOT.

Moving forward and as soon as weather permits, the contractor will commence with the tree installation. The contractor will also continue with any remaining punch list items that were left over from last year's work.

We are pleased to inform you that we are substantially complete with the North Avenue Reconstruction project in your neighborhood.

A walk-through with Village staff has been completed and a punch list of minor clean up and outstanding work items to be completed has been prepared and submitted to the Contractor.

Please note that the punch list items and tree plantings will be completed in the spring of 2017 with a final inspection of all work completed immediately thereafter. Any work not deemed acceptable will be removed and replaced in kind.

Throughout the duration of this project, we repeatedly requested your patience and cooperation. At times operations seemed a bit chaotic, with many new faces and vehicles in the neighborhood for the past several months, and we thank you for treating them all with respect as we hope that they did for you. Village staff, the Contractor and the onsite engineers from Gewalt Hamilton Associates greatly appreciate the patience you have all shown and are optimistic that you will enjoy the return of tranquility to your neighborhood.

Construction signage has been erected and tree removal began the week of July 11th. Looking forward, erosion control measures will be installed the week of July 18th, in preparation for water main installation which take place the following week.

Construction activities will begin to ramp up over the next two weeks that will result in heavy truck traffic and the mobilization of large construction equipment. Please avoid walking and riding bicycles within the construction zone, as loose gravel presents hazards for both pedestrians and cyclists. Motorists should select alternative routes to avoid construction.

This project is a joint venture between the Villages of Deerfield and Bannockburn. Due to this section of road being identified as a major collector route, this project qualified for and has received Federal funding participation.

We are pleased to announce that preliminary work will begin July 5, 2016

The work consists of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main improvements, proposed curb and gutter installation, new asphalt pavement installation, driveway apron installations, new tree installation, and landscape restoration along North Avenue from Wilmot Road to Telegraph Road.

The roadway will be closed to all thru traffic with a posted detour throughout the duration of the project. While the operations will likely create brief delays in traveling your street or entering/exiting driveways, access to all homes will be maintained.

In accordance with Village Code, construction working hours are from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm during the week and 8:30 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday. We anticipate the project will be completed by the end of November, 2016 with remaining landscape work to be completed in the Spring of 2017.

As with any construction project, there will be inconveniences at times and we thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. The Village and the Contractor are working together to minimize the disruption and inconvenience you will experience.
